We are seeking a highly skilled Dog Handler to join our team at 11 Recruitment. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Monitor Dogs: Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs in playgroups at all times.
  • Interactive Play and Enrichment: Engage dogs in activities to promote physical and mental stimulation.
  • Basic Obedience Training: Provide training and reinforce positive behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in dog play areas.
  • Dog Health and Safety: Monitor dogs for signs of illness, injury, or behavioural issues and report concerns to management or veterinary staff.
  • General Care: Assist with feeding, administering medications, and providing general care for dogs according to their individual needs.
  • Client Interaction: Interact with clients and provide updates on their dog's activities, behaviour, and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: Minimum 2-3 years' work experience in dog handling.
  • Professional Background: Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as a dog daycare, boarding facility, or animal shelter.
  • Dog Behaviour Knowledge: Strong understanding of dog behaviour, body language, and pack dynamics.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to remain calm and composed in high-energy or stressful situations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with dogs and clients.

Remuneration Package: The role offers a remuneration package ranging $65,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
