The Role

We seek an experienced Substation Mechanical Designer for a permanent, full-time position. Candidates with expertise in substation layout design at around 132kV are encouraged to apply. Junior engineers with a strong desire to grow in high-voltage design are also welcome.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed drafting outputs for substation civil and primary design under the guidance of design engineers.
  • Improve design quality and efficiency through integrated and intelligent design practices, including 3D and BIM modelling.
Requirements
  • An Advanced Diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
  • Solid experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience interpreting instructions and design inputs from structural engineers, developing footing, equipment steelwork, conduit, fabrication, and layout drawings.
  • Desirable: experience in substation design at around 132kV.
  • Desirable: experience with REVIT, BIM, or similar drafting tools.
  • Strong skills in designing and interpreting single-line diagrams, specifications, and standards.
