Sanctuary Cleaner Role

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable individual to fill the role of Casual Sanctuary Cleaner. This operational position will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of both indoor and outdoor areas of our wildlife sanctuary.

The successful candidate will perform regular daily cleaning duties, including:

  • Cleaning facilities, toilets, public areas, offices, kitchens, food and beverage outlets, lunchrooms, and other areas.
  • Providing friendly helpful information about the sanctuary's facilities and attractions to valued guests.
  • Assisting with projects and other department needs as required.
  • Working in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, with extensive walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Using equipment and personal protective equipment safely and properly.

Key Responsibilities:

We require someone with strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and usage of cleaning machinery. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience supervising a commercial cleaning team, along with previous experience working productively within a small team. They must also be able to adhere to WHS guidelines/policies and practices, with experience with commercial chemicals being essential. Additionally, they should have an acceptable level of personal presentation and communication to interact with park visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Requirements
  • At least two years of experience supervising a commercial cleaning team.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and usage of cleaning machinery.
  • Previous experience working productively within a small team, being a cooperative team player with a friendly and positive approach.
  • Ability to adhere to WHS guidelines/policies and practices, experience with commercial chemicals is essential.
  • Acceptable level of personal presentation and communication to interact with park visitors, staff, and volunteers.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with mammals, birds, and reptiles, including snakes.
