The Head of School role is a unique opportunity for experienced educators to take on leadership responsibilities and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

Job Description

This exceptional opportunity is designed for individuals who share our passion for reengaging students with learning and are committed to becoming leaders in their field.

The successful candidate will have the chance to put their mark on our Newcastle campus from day one, working closely with the Executive Principal to develop and implement effective teaching and learning programs.

This role involves overseeing all aspects of teaching and learning, student wellbeing, and day-to-day operations of the site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team and working collaboratively within the broader school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Action approved Development Plan and model
  • Implement policies and procedures, providing recommendations for change to the State Principal and/or Executive Principal for approval
  • Draft Annual Report
  • Manage staff, including recruitment, annual performance reviews and disciplinary action as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of effective teaching, learning and classroom management practices
  • Demonstrated experience as an exemplary teacher
  • Demonstrated capacity for educational leadership within a school setting
  • Able to lead a team and work collaboratively within a team
  • High-level decision-making skills with minimal consultation to upper Management
  • Ability to provide high-level solutions to problems and improve outcomes

Certifications
  • Qualification in Teaching
  • Hold a current NESA accreditation
  • National Police Check, issued in the 3 months prior to commencement and annually thereafter
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check NSW
