Our team is dedicated to providing an immersive experience for our visitors, showcasing the beauty of marine life and the importance of conservation.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Biologist/Aquarist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Aquariums life support systems, coral propagation, and Marine ornamental fish systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular water quality tests and reviews of current literature on best practice to ensure the systems are maintained.
- Work closely with the team to safely feed and exhibit the animals, providing educational presentations to visitors.
- Develop and implement husbandry and feeding programs for Marine Aquariums and Sea Turtles.
- Oversee volunteer programs and ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare.
Requirements:
- High working knowledge of government requirements, relevant laws, and regulations in relation to exhibiting Animals in QLD and Australia.
- High working knowledge of health and safety working with Aquariums.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on beautiful Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef, contributing to the conservation and education of marine life.
