We are looking for a skilled Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee the morning shift operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our logistics processes.

Role Overview:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse workforce.
  • Strong emphasis on safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the safe operation of machinery and prioritize loading and unloading activities.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, load restraint protocols, and minimize damage to freight.
  • Address operational challenges related to revenue, loads, costs, and site management.
  • Assist in decision-making regarding transport methods, equipment availability, and scaling requirements based on volume changes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a customer-centric culture that drives exceptional results.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with Truck Drivers and Operations Support to ensure smooth shift operations.
  • Conduct quality inspections on materials and report any damages or deficiencies.
  • Inspect machinery, including forklifts, to assess repair needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and operational logs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role within the transport sector.
  • A collaborative team player who can lead effectively and work closely with various departments.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly with Windows-based Freight Management Systems and MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations and compliance in the transport industry.
  • Understanding of linehaul and local express transport operations.
  • Knowledge of FMCG transport processes.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure with resilience and enthusiasm.
  • High motivation and energy focused on delivering outstanding customer service.
  • A valid Forklift License is essential; HC or MC License is a plus.
