POSITION SUMMARY
At Amazon, we are on the lookout for skilled Operations Shift Managers to take on a pivotal role in overseeing our team of associates within our logistics facility.
Are you enthusiastic about guiding, mentoring, and developing a workforce? Do you take pride in upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, attendance, and performance? As an Operations Shift Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our customer expectations are met by delivering orders accurately and promptly.
Please be aware that the shift pattern consists of 4 days on and 3 days off, requiring flexibility as operations run throughout the week.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and nurture a team of Amazon associates.
- Uphold Health and Safety standards while fostering a safety-first culture on-site.
- Collaborate with various support teams, including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources, to devise strategies that align with business goals.
- Proactively identify and spearhead process enhancement initiatives utilizing Lean methodologies.
- Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching with varying weights.
A DAY IN THE ROLE
As a dynamic leader within our logistics facilities, you will focus on continuously enhancing the efficiency of delivery operations, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled swiftly, accurately, and cost-effectively. Alongside your colleagues, you will guarantee that all workflows are efficient and that customer expectations are consistently met or surpassed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- Management experience with sizable teams; a natural motivator and relationship builder.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: capable of conducting in-depth analyses on complex processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with performance metrics and process improvement strategies.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Authorized to work in Australia without sponsorship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Competent in managing high levels of ambiguity while thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean or Kaizen methodologies.
