Statistical Data Specialist

This position is responsible for planning and documenting computer data file structures, developing and maintaining complex statistical databases, and performing or supervising data entry tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Selects data samples, prepares questionnaires and surveys, and conducts logic checks to ensure data quality.
  • Utilizes existing statistical software and established methods to collect, analyze, and interpret research data.
  • Formats data and develops reports, charts, tables, and other related documents and graphics.
  • Participates in the development of statistical methodology, study design, and data analysis.
  • Assists in project planning and management with clients and other staff members.
  • May supervise data entry personnel and/or students on specific tasks.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties specified.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to plan, create, program, and manage complex statistical databases.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in processing computer data and formatting reports.
  • Analytical and interpretation skills for statistical data.
  • Knowledge of programming logic and codes.
  • Understanding of statistical sampling and survey methodology.
  • Skills in database management, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Knowledge of statistical research principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficiency in SAS programming and/or other statistical software.
