Key Responsibilities- Expert Clinical Care
The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse is responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with breast cancer. This includes:
- Coordinating complex care pathways using evidence-based practices and validated assessment tools.
- Developing and reviewing clinical guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Modeling advanced nursing practice and mentoring colleagues to enhance their skills.
This role involves guiding best practice, developing and reviewing clinical guidelines, and modeling advanced nursing practice. The successful candidate will have the ability to influence future directions in breast cancer services.
- Leading by example and promoting a culture of excellence within the organisation.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes.
As a strategic contributor, the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse will participate in service and workforce planning, and influence future directions in breast cancer services. This includes:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing plans to address gaps in service provision.
The successful candidate will provide education and support to colleagues and contribute to the professional development of the broader cancer nursing team. This includes:
- Developing and delivering educational programs to enhance colleague skills.
- Mentoring new staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
This role involves building strong links with oncology, palliative care, allied health, and community services. The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners.
- Collaborating with internal teams to achieve organisational goals.
The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse will participate in internal and external committees and raise the profile of breast cancer support services. This includes:
- Representing the organisation at external meetings and events.
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote breast cancer awareness.
