Employment Law Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve workplace issues by providing industrial advice to members and advocacy with employers and before industrial tribunals.
- Participate in enterprise bargaining negotiations and ensure compliance with the legislative regime.
- Represent members and the Union in collective and individual meetings with employers and peak bodies.
- Represent members and the Union in Award matters before the Fair Work Commission.
The Industrial Officer will work collaboratively with the Union's leadership team to achieve its objectives. This includes building power, growth, and union membership, as well as shaping industrial strategies that benefit our members.
Other duties associated with this role include maintaining and developing industrial knowledge across various industries. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold and promote the Union's values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Requirements:
- A law graduate or a lawyer looking to move into employment law.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
