About the Role

- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities gained from working in both legal practice and industry. They will be knowledgeable about the oil and gas sector, with a general understanding of Australian law and commercial operations.
Main Responsibilities

- Deliver legal services related to operational risk, conduct or transactions, and manage external providers of legal services.
- Act as a trusted advisor, strategist, and sounding board on legal matters, providing unique perspectives on project finance.
- Assist in preparing, negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and settling contracts, agreements and legal documents.
- Provide oversight of legal matters, including contract law, relevant legislation and corporate governance principles.
- Advise management on legal risks and support sound decision-making.
- Manage and mentor members of the legal team.
Requirements

- A graduate qualification in law is required.
- 7+ years' experience in public companies and/or private practice with relevant work experience.
- Ability to work effectively with executive management as an advisor and leader.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks and offer solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Australian onshore and international oil and gas operations.
