Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Your primary responsibilities will include delivering statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework and case management in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines. You will work closely with other professionals to provide support to families and individuals in need.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of child development, family dynamics and community resources. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including children, young people, parents, carers and community members.

You will also have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework and case management.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide support to families and individuals in need.
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor level qualification in social work, psychology, human services or behavioural science (or equivalent).
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
