Job Opportunity

This role is a senior welding supervisory position responsible for overseeing daily welding activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards and managing a team of welders. The successful candidate will liaise with project and workshop managers to meet production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Allocate projects to available resources effectively.
  • Monitor weld consumables to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide training where required to enhance team capabilities.
  • Support the Welding Coordination team in their operations.
  • Create and maintain ITP, NDR, HTR and Weld Logs as per requirements.
  • Update and monitor welder qualifications registers accurately.
  • Develop weld procedures as needed to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with client engineers to address any concerns or queries.
  • Complete NCR's efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate with 3rd Party NDT Technicians to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors as necessary for PWHT/NDT tasks.
  • Conduct Internal NDT inspections to ensure quality standards.
  • Investigate incidents and complete Incident Reports promptly.
  • Develop Safer Systems of Work to minimize risks.
  • Conduct Supplier Audits to ensure compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience in welding processes and fabrication.
  • Proven track record of leading and coordinating a team.
  • Experience in project allocation and resource management.
  • ISO 3834 Audit experience.
Qualifications
  • Trade Certificate - Fabrication Heavy (Boilermaker).
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia.
  • AS 1796 Certificate 10.
