Learn to Swim Assistant

We are seeking enthusiastic team members to assist with children in developing swimming and water safety.

The role involves assisting with swimming lessons, setting up and packing away equipment, and working as part of a team to deliver high-quality programs for infants, children, and adults.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sports Centre Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional customer service.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated experience in communication, organisation, time management skills, and attention to detail is essential.

You will also need to have the ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries, engage and work with a range of stakeholders, particularly young people and their parents.

Familiarity with legal obligations relating to child safety including mandatory reporting requirements is also a must.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in communication, teamwork, organisation, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to engage and work with a range of stakeholders, particularly young people and their parents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Familiarity with legal obligations relating to child safety including mandatory reporting requirements.
Working Conditions

The Learn to Swim classes are held at our indoor heated pools. Classes vary from group lessons, casual lessons, to one-on-one private lessons, and our programs are suited to all ages and abilities, all year round.

The successful applicants must have the availability to work weekends and varying shift times.
