We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Great Southern Mental Health service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents aged 0-18 in the community mental health setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provision of clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents in the community mental health setting.
- Liaising and conferring regularly with general practitioners, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervising and training medical students and junior doctors, including a training registrar.
- Initiating or participating in research projects relevant to the mental health service.
- Participating in the on-call roster for the mental health team and the ECT roster.
The CAMHS team is well-established and involved in Child and Adolescent, general Adult and Older Adult services in the community. The team includes an existing psychiatrist, registrar, psychologist, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and Aboriginal mental health workers.
The team is committed to service improvement and is always looking for ways to maximise early access to assessment and treatment and to services such as Family Based Therapy which give young people in the region the best chance at success.
