This is your chance to contribute to a vision of creating pathways to better health for our North West communities. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Mental Health.

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide direct and indirect care as required, working collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support the clinical unit in providing safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the speciality of mental health.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences
  • Post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study (highly desirable)
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence

  • Isolation bonus: AUD$3,500 for 1 year, AUD$10,500 for 2 years and AUD$7,000 for every year after that
  • Base salary: $132,562 - $143,924 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

  • Tax savings through salary sacrificing options available

  • 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave
  • 5 weeks p.a. recreation leave with a 17.5% loading/bonus
  • Staff accommodation or private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months

The Doomadgee Hospital provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. It is located in the far North-western corner of Queensland on the Nicholson River near the gulf of Carpentaria. The Waanyi and Gangalidda people are recognised as the Traditional Custodians of the area.
