Job Title: Environmental Planning Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Environmental Planning Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental planning principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for monitoring new and existing developments, providing advice on environmental planning matters, and working with stakeholders to achieve integrated environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor new and existing developments to ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and plans;
  • Provide expert advice on environmental planning matters, including vegetation protection, stormwater management, and soil management;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve integrated environmental outcomes;
  • Contribute to the preparation of submissions to regulatory bodies and attend as required;
  • Draft condition responses and maintain records of enforcement proceedings;

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in environmental science, urban planning, or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and planning policies;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and geospatial mapping software;
