Job Description

As a Policy Officer, you will be working for a government department that plays a vital role in the lives of citizens.

The department is responsible for delivering high-impact work that has a direct impact on people's lives. The Policy Officer will provide enterprise security advice and policy, risk analysis and project support, to enable services and protect people, information, and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of security strategy and policy initiatives;
  • Monitor progress against prescribed standards and metrics;
  • Support managers and project leads with research, analysis and advice on policy and strategic implications;
  • Prepare briefs and correspondence;

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in similar Policy Officer roles;
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent knowledge and skills;
  • Experience in complex operating environments, including liaison with state, national and internal security, and intelligence communities;
  • Advanced policy development experience or experience relating to protective security implementation and governance;
