Job Overview:
Environmental Impact SpecialistWe are seeking an Environmental Impact Specialist to undertake and coordinate environmental impact assessments on Defence projects. This role involves working alongside management teams to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project design, development, and construction.
Main Responsibilities:
- Undertake and coordinate environmental impact assessments and approvals for Defence projects
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to identify risks, resolve issues, and manage change throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects
- Support business growth by fostering environmental planning and approvals across the region
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science or related field with experience in environmental impact assessments and planning approvals
- Strong experience working on Defence projects in Australia, including a Baseline clearance and understanding of the Defence environment framework
- Ability to assess impact on environment and heritage values on the Defence estate
- Understanding of the EPBC Act 1999 and its application to environmental impact assessment and Defence projects
- Strong coordination skills with ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables
