About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned cyber security expert to join our team as a Staff Security Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for threat hunting, automation, and mentorship to lead by example and shape the future of our security function.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Fraud and Scams Defence: Developing and uplifting fraud and scams prevention controls across ventures
  • Security Assurance: Building lightweight, effective security assurance programs aligned to NIST CSF and ACSC Essential 8
  • SOC & Threat Hunting: Leading purple team exercises, hunting threats using Microsoft Sentinel and the Defender Suite
  • Automation First: Designing and implementing automated playbooks, reducing repetitive SOC tasks, and improving detection efficiency
  • Architecture & Consultation: Partnering with engineers and executives to embed secure design and provide pragmatic security consultation
  • Mentorship: Coaching security engineers, sharing threat-hunting techniques, and uplifting team capability
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in cyber security, fraud and scams prevention
  • Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR suite, with real-world threat hunting experience
  • Strong SOC background: incident response, detection engineering, threat hunting
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and building team-wide technical capability
  • Possession of relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM)
