We're seeking a skilled CDP and Commis Chef to join our team at The Standard Hotel in Melbourne.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a good working knowledge of kitchen operations, and a deep appreciation of quality food and production techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the execution of all daily culinary operations.
- Ability to thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy kitchen environment and manage multiple tasks with ease.
- A proven track record in a high-quality commercial kitchen.
- Demonstrate professional culinary & food safety skills and qualifications.
- Display a highly motivated and pro-active attitude, act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
- Multi-task and demonstrate excellent time management skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Prepare all mise-en-place requirements and food required by the Senior Chefs on duty.
- Maintain a clean, safe working area at all times.
- Comply with all Hotel Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant occupational Health and safety procedures including a knowledge of HACCP.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Innovative and creative approach to cooking.
- Experience with Asian cuisine.
- Thorough understanding of food safety requirements.
- Hold appropriate qualifications in commercial cookery.
- Thrive in a busy, team environment.
- Be a good communicator and open to sharing feedback and ideas.
- Flexible with working hours including weekends.
