Job Title: Maintenance Technician

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with operational staff and external contractors to maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime. The position involves hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and commitment to safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular equipment inspections to identify potential issues and conduct maintenance tasks to quality standards.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and escalate major issues as necessary.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

  • Work collaboratively with the Production Team to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in the MEX system.

  • Assist in spare parts management and participate in maintenance projects with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in incident investigations and contribute to a positive workplace safety culture.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognized trade or tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical fields.

  • A valid Class C Driver's Licence.

  • Availability to work rotating morning or afternoon shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with minimal disruption to operations.

Desirable Qualifications (Training can be provided):

  • Working at Heights ticket.

  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket.

  • Forklift licence.

  • Confined Space ticket.

  • Asbestos Awareness.

  • Experience in a commercial laundry or manufacturing environment.

Professional and Behavioural Competencies:

  • Sound judgment and experience in prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.

  • Understanding of and commitment to workplace diversity, safety, equity, and values.
