This role is ideal for medical professionals who wish to develop their skills in Radiology and contribute to the provision of high-quality clinical care to patients. The position will provide an opportunity to work in a complex clinical environment and experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
The Imaging Professional will be involved in all stages of Radiological examination, including referral, triaging, prescribing oral and intra-venous contrast, checking for allergies, supervision, assistance with performance and communication of the procedure.
The Imaging Professional will also assist senior Radiologists in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. This role has a focus on excellence in teaching and offers training towards a higher qualification in Radiology under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).
The Department of RadiologyThe Department of Radiology at RPA provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services in a large tertiary referral hospital setting. Our subspecialist imaging services include:
- Neuroradiology
- Musculoskeletal imaging
- Abdominal and pelvic imaging
- Thoracic and Cardiovascular imaging
RPA Radiology performs extensive imaging-guided interventional procedures with diagnostic and therapeutic results enhancing patient care. Services cover the full range of imaging-guided interventions, including angiography, imaging-guided biopsies and drainages, biliary and urological interventions, oncologic interventions, and vascular access.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to engage in a diverse range of imaging settings and participate in the care of patients from multiple clinical disciplines and settings. They will be a key member of the team guiding a patient through their imaging encounter in both diagnostic and interventional settings.
RequirementsTo be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification, currently registered or eligible for registration with the relevant medical authority.
- Have a minimum 2 years postgraduate experience and recent provision of clinical care.
- Be able to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, utilizing excellent clinical skills, judgment, and expertise.
- Be able to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including sharing appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.
- Have adept verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
- Be able to prioritize workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
- Be committed to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
- Have an interest in pursuing a possible career in Radiology, with some evidence of experience or study in relation to relevant disciplines.
