We are seeking an exceptional Kennel Assistant to join our team at The Pet Vet on Patton in Asheville, North Carolina. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, ensuring their health, safety, and happiness.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hospital, including kennels, treatment areas, and outside grounds.
  • Feed and monitor the health of hospitalized animals and boarders, maintaining accurate records of their conditions.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians to address medical and behavioral concerns, notifying them of any unusual issues.
  • Perform daily tasks such as walking animals, maintaining laundry facilities, and managing inventory.
Requirements:
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in animal care and handling.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, including weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Show proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Evidently possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds, ensuring physical ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience as a kennel assistant or similar role is preferred.
