In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repairs on Council vehicles, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and safety regulations.

Job DescriptionThis is a full-time position requiring 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm. The successful candidate will have experience with Arc, Oxygen, and Mig welding, as well as a strong background in servicing trucks and agricultural equipment. HR Driving License (with expiry date) and HC License are preferred but not essential.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on Council vehicles, adhering to manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize operational downtime and ensure smooth functioning.
- Supervise apprentices, fostering a safe and organized workshop environment.
- Manage inventory levels for parts and materials, and efficiently coordinate maintenance schedules.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on diverse plant, equipment, trucks, and light commercials as per Council specifications, including welding and light fabrication tasks as needed.
- Certified as a Diesel Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter.
- Experience with Arc, Oxygen, and Mig welding.
- Strong background in servicing trucks and agricultural equipment.
- HR Driving License (with expiry date) and HC License preferred.
The salary for this position is $35.71 per hour + Super. This is a casual role with potential to go permanent, offering flexibility and opportunities for growth. Located in Dandenong, this position requires applicants to commit to rosters with a proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
