The Clinical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of Senior Medical Officers within our Rural Health Services. This includes rostering, payroll, annual leave, sick leave, backfill of roster gaps, mandatory training compliance and general issues.
Some key capabilities and accountabilities of the role include:
- Delivery of Rural Medical services to patients in accordance with standards of the discipline and ethics of the profession.
- Leading and managing the delivery of patient care within Rural Health Services including management of complex clinical situations.
- Providing robust clinical leadership and being responsible for overseeing, developing and/or implementing clinical policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to Rural Medical service provision.
- Liaising and collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team functioning, positive patient outcomes and stream objectives.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Clinical and technical expertise with appropriate knowledge, skills and ability to deliver quality medical service to inpatients and outpatients independently in a rural setting where access to investigations can often be limited.
- A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and lead other staff including providing direction to staff within a changing and innovative work environment.
- Commitment to principles of quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance.
- Sound knowledge at a strategic level of human resource management issues and workforce engagement.
