Nurse Unit Manager Position Overview

Nurse unit managers play a vital role in the operational direction of healthcare facilities, supporting leadership teams and fostering excellence in patient-centered care. In this role, you will oversee adult psychiatry units and older persons units, providing mentorship to your team and managing resources effectively.

The key responsibilities of this position include leading unit operations, managing human and financial resources, delivering direct patient care, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

A successful nurse unit manager will have AHPRA registration, at least 5 years' experience in inpatient mental health settings, familiarity with NSQHS/ACHS standards, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
