We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Occupational Health and Safety Partner to lead the implementation of WHS strategies and drive improvement in our dynamic organisation.

The successful candidate will manage and lead the implementation of WHS strategies, objectives and programs, and embed them within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and drive the effective implementation of the WHS management systems with senior managers, employees and stakeholders to meet their specific needs.
  • Deliver consistent expert coaching, advice, interventions and solutions to WHS issues.
  • Research and identify emerging WHS trends and implement innovative solutions to drive improvement.
  • Coordinate with the business in managing their WHS risk management activity to provide recommendations and assist in ensuring control measures are effective and in place.
  • Collaborate and partner with designated clients and stakeholders to build a high performance WHS culture across the organisation that empowers individuals to model desired leadership behaviours.
  • Oversee incident management activities and build effective capability to prevent reoccurrence.
Deliverables
  • Review the current WHS development plan - assess the outcomes of the AHO Psychosocial Survey, determine priorities and develop a plan for risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Develop a 12-month improvement plan.
  • Implement agreed priority processes WHS monthly Executive reporting and quarterly DPE Risk Management reporting.
  • Support the Risk Management Committee and provide secretariat services.
Requirements
  • 5 to 8 years diverse WHS experience, including the improvement of WHS knowledge, processes and practices across a small to medium organisation.
  • Ability to quickly build credible relationships and trust.
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Practice knowledge and experience in psychosocial hazard assessment and mitigation strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience working with staff of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Effective emotional intelligence with clear traits as an initiator and persistent in achieving improvements.
