- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage extreme behaviours, including verbal and physical aggression.
- Restrictive Practices: Utilise restrictive practices in accordance with approved positive behaviour support plans.
- Provide direct support in accordance with the individual's care plan.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using approved techniques.
- Implement and monitor restrictive practices as required.
- Assist with personal care tasks.
- Facilitate participation in community activities and social interactions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of behaviour support provided and incidents occurred.
- Communicate effectively with the individual, their family, and the support team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Excellent English skills - verbal and written.
- Experience with challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge and experience with Complex Mental Health needs.
- Understanding of ethical restrictive practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm under stress.
- Relevant qualifications in Disability Support or Community Services.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Paid Yellow Card and Blue Card, Drivers License – Road Worthy Registered Vehicle (CAR).
- Empathetic, patient, and committed to improving life quality for individuals with disabilities.
- Resilient, adaptable, and excellent at problem-solving.
- Team-oriented but able to work independently when required.
- Respectful and culturally sensitive to providing care to a female participant.
