Seeking a dedicated Prostate Cancer Specialist to provide expert care and support for men navigating prostate cancer. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

This is a newly created opportunity for a highly skilled professional to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by prostate cancer.

The role is permanent part-time, working 45 hours per fortnight (0.6FTE), and offers a chance to become a trusted advocate and care coordinator for men with prostate cancer.

You'll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering exceptional, personalised supportive care, working in partnership across all areas of healthcare to ensure continuity, quality, and compassion in every aspect of care.

As a Prostate Cancer Specialist, you'll work closely with patients, families, and carers to provide advanced, patient-centred care and support, including initial assessments, needs triage, care coordination, follow-ups, and identifying clinical trial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver advanced, patient-centred care and support for men with prostate cancer.
  • Act as a clinical resource, mentor, and technical expert in prostate cancer care, including leading education programs.
  • Drive innovation and service development across cancer care, surgery, and perioperative services.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to data collection relevant to prostate cancer care.
Requirements:
  • AHPRA registration.
  • Advanced clinical skills in cancer or urological nursing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and best practice.
Desired Skills:
  • Postgraduate qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience.
  • Significant experience in prostate cancer, urology, or oncology nursing.
  • Patient education experience.
  • Clinical IT system competence.
