Engineer Role in Central Monitoring

A high-profile position has become available for a Facilities Operations Centre (FOC) Engineer to lead the development of a newly created central monitoring location.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and be responsible for overseeing the setup of electrical and mechanical systems. This individual will collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other critical roles to ensure safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about customer experience and eager to contribute to operational excellence. The role may require flexible scheduling to support a 24x7 environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor facilities infrastructure platforms
  • Communicate with internal and external teams
  • Develop protocols to enhance team performance
  • Analyse outages to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure timely record updates
  • Support emergency recovery efforts
  • Develop tools to improve team efficiency

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of data centre IT infrastructure and facilities infrastructure
  • Experience with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
