We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Solicitor to join our team. As a key member of our legal practice, you will be responsible for representing clients in criminal proceedings, preparing court documents, and conducting thorough legal research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in Local Court criminal proceedings, including mentions, directions, bail, and short hearings.
- Prepare court documents, affidavits, and submissions with attention to detail and precision.
- Conduct thorough legal research and collaborate with barristers on case management.
- Interact with clients and assist them with real-life legal situations, utilizing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Court attendances in various jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court, and Local Court.
- Review and prepare complex security documents, deeds of guarantee, loan agreements, shareholder agreements, and lease documents.
- Mentor and guide interns and clerks, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year's post-admission experience in a general practice firm.
- Experience in Local Court criminal appearances, particularly in matters such as mentions, bail applications, and short hearings.
- Desirable: Conveyancing or Family Law experience and previous attendance at Supreme Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court, and Local Court.
- Excellent time management skills, able to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
