Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rocket Engine Specialist to join our team. This role involves performing advanced analysis of rocket engine systems, providing guidance and mentoring junior engineers, and supporting the development of processes and tools in Python and Matlab.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform system-level analysis of rocket engine systems
  • Develop and run steady-state and transient analytic models of engines and other test articles
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers and component owners to ensure engine performance meets requirements
  • Support rocket engine testing and provide analysis results to various customers and partners
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • At least 2+ years of engineering experience (level commensurate upon experience)
  • Experience in modeling complex fluid systems
  • Understanding of numerical solvers and methods
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply engineering fundamentals including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and power systems
  • Proficient in programming and knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/Fortran/etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Knowledge of ROCETS, NPSS, GFSSP, Thermal-Desktop, or an equivalent system modeling software package
  • Knowledge of Fortran, Python and Matlab
  • Demonstrated experience with modeling pump-fed liquid rocket engine systems
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $89,820-$125,748 per year, based on location and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
