Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of power system analysis and grid connections projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior engineers, ensuring the highest quality of work and meeting project deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in power system analysis, with expertise in feasibility assessments, power system modeling, generator performance standards studies, and connection application package development. Proven experience in leading teams, managing multiple projects, and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead power system analysis and grid connections projects from advisory to commissioning
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure high-quality work and meet project deadlines
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve project efficiency and quality
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recognized Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia is a plus
  • Extensive experience in power system analysis for utility-scale networks, including steady-state, dynamic, and electromagnetic transient (RMS/EMT) studies
  • Proven experience with the generator connection process under the Australian National Electricity Rules (NER) or similar frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of NER and Generator Technical Performance Standards (GTPS)
  • Background in consulting engineering, with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients
  • Proficiency in PSS/E and PSCAD; experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSSE SINCAL is a plus
  • Familiarity with synchronous and non-synchronous connections, including storage and hybrid technologies
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
