Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Child Protection Specialist to join our team. This role involves working with vulnerable children and families, providing support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

About the Role

In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will be responsible for responding to reports of safety concerns surrounding children and young people who may have been harmed. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of these individuals.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to understand their needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to share knowledge and best practices in child protection.
  • Assist families in identifying and addressing safety and well-being concerns, and provide appropriate assistance through home visits and other forms of support.
  • Develop and implement safety plans, conducting thorough risk assessments to ensure the best outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Manage complex cases, including those involving high-risk clients and their families, and work collaboratively to find effective solutions.
  • Participate in court processes, preparing documents and attending hearings as necessary.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field, along with relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's licence and a paid working with children clearance number.
