Cairns City, Queensland, Australia BDO Full time
About BDO (NTH QLD)

BDO (NTH QLD) is a leading full-service audit, tax, and advisory firm in North Queensland, with 10 partners and a total of 80 team members. For over 100 years, our firm has provided local community support in North Queensland. We offer a unique combination of generous employee benefits, local market knowledge, career pathways, training, and technical expertise.

A Career in Business Services or Audit

We are currently seeking students who are interested in joining our Business Services and Audit teams for our graduate program. Our graduates are very important to us, as we recognize their potential to become our firm's future leaders. For the right candidates, these positions provide strong pathways for career development, as part of our growing firm.

Business Services Graduate

As a Graduate in Business Services, you will have the opportunity to build a strong foundation for career progression. You will gain a solid understanding in the following areas:

  • Business reporting, including payroll, superannuation, GST, financial reporting, and ATO deadlines
  • Software exposure, including training and certification in systems such as MYOB and Xero

Your career development will then progress to developing taxation and business advisory expertise. These skills will be developed through on-the-job training within our supportive Business Services team environment as well as formal structured learning support.

Audit Graduate

As a Graduate in Audit, you will get 'hands-on experience' and be involved in real client work. You will be supported by our experienced team every step of the way. You will often be away from the office, spending time at the client's premises, building an understanding of the client's business, identifying potential risks, and analyzing information to provide the client and their stakeholders a level of assurance on the financial statements. You will be supported in your career development with a formal structured training program and on-the-job mentoring.

About You

We welcome students who are interested in joining Business Services and Audit teams, and who have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Willingness to complete additional study or working towards eligibility for CAANZ or CPA postgraduate study
  • Possess high levels of attention to detail
  • Confidence when communicating and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills as well as willing and able to learn new technologies
