Speech and Language Pathologist Job Opportunity

This role is for a skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to provide high-quality services to young people in youth detention.


About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive clinical assessments, developing reports that inform referrals and interventions, and modifying written information to improve accessibility.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture aligned with human rights principles and support departmental programs and community partnerships.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of young people's communication skills, creating detailed reports that guide referrals and interventions.
  • Adapt written materials and develop visual aids to enhance accessibility for individuals with complex communication needs.
  • Implement targeted interventions to support understanding, expressive language, literacy, social skills, and daily functioning.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders on complex practice and client issues.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance workforce skills, knowledge, and capability.
  • Understand and comply with safety and security procedures in high-risk environments.
