Job Description:

As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Australia's energy sector. You will be part of a collaborative team that applies advanced optimisation, simulation and analytical techniques to real-world challenges in energy network modelling and control.

The successful candidate will have expertise in electrical generation/distribution/transmission system modelling, planning, optimisation or control, with experience working with power systems modelling tools and programming/analysis tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues, collaborators, clients and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary degree, or equivalent relevant work experience, in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields with a focus on power systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in electrical generation/distribution/transmission system modelling, planning, optimisation or control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, collaborators, clients and stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for applied research solving current problems for commercial partners.
