We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, education, and advocacy in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and administer healthcare services to patients, including reproductive and health-related services.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and laboratory tests as necessary.
- Provide education and counseling to patients on reproductive health, fertility control, infertility, and sexually transmitted infections.
- Prescribe medications and contraceptive devices as needed.
- Monitor medical aspects of all services offered at the health center and provide guidance to staff and patients.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and implement overall quality assurance programs at the health center.
- Collaborate with affiliate staff physicians and medical directors as needed.
- Develop and maintain medical documentation in an electronic health record system.
- Adhere to affiliate goals, policies, and standards of conduct.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of Wisconsin.
- Certification by a national credentialing body as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g. NCC, ANCC).
- Master's degree in nursing or related health field preferred.
- Previous work experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Advance Practice Nurse, with experience in family planning, women's health, or an ob/gyn setting preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
The position is generally performed in a medical office environment, but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low to quiet. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
