Strategic Human Resources Business Partner

The Workforce Engagement Officer will provide innovative solutions to support the Western Plains Correctional Centre's key workforce and prison services function. The role involves identifying workforce capacity and capability, ensuring the right employment types are recruited, and that the workforce has the appropriate skills and capabilities necessary for completing the work required.
The position will support work that ensures sufficient onboarding and workforce management processes are in place for the effective and efficient operation of the facility. This will be achieved through collaboration with management, area specialists, and operational staff as well as the use of data solutions.
The Workforce Engagement Officer will be responsible for providing knowledge, expertise, and creative solutions that support Western Plains Correctional Centre's objectives now and into the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation, communication, and ongoing maintenance of the employee engagement strategy to continually drive positive employee experiences.
- Build and foster relationships across business units to ensure employees are engaged and informed no matter where they work in the prison.
- Provide support and advice to managers in relation to organisational culture, values, and other workforce engagement related activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a strategic human resources/staff engagement role, demonstrated experience in providing corporate support services in government or large private sector organisations, and experience working with the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software.
A qualification in human resource management would be desirable.
