Mental Health Professional Job Description

Our team is seeking a skilled Mental Health Professional to join our health centre. This role will involve providing high-quality healthcare to individuals in need, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide holistic care and support for patients.
  • Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to maintain registration and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting.
  • Recent participation in CPD activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
  • Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice desirable.
