Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cold Larder Assistant to join our team at Thornleigh location. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in preparing and serving delicious meals to our residents and guests. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our chef to prepare and present high-quality food, adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with residents and staff to ensure their dietary requirements are met, contributing to a positive and inclusive dining environment.
  • Collaborate with our chef to support menu planning, food preparation, and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes.
  • Prepare and serve food in a timely and hygienic manner, upholding sound food handling practices to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
  • Familiarize yourself with workplace Health & Safety & Hygiene procedures and adhere to them at all times.
  • Ensure residents' dietary requirements are strictly adhered to, respecting their preferences and needs.

Candidate Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with colleagues and residents.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a small team, showcasing your ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • A solid understanding of food service principles, particularly in aged care settings.
  • A Food Handler's Certificate and knowledge of food safety & hygiene requirements, including HACCP protocols.
