Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor

Job Description:

RMIT University's Research and Innovation Leadership Team is seeking a senior executive to advance research partnerships and translation. This role provides strategic oversight of the development of research partnerships and paths to impact across the university.

The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in research partnering, driving strategic growth, translation, and commercialisation. They will possess advanced negotiation skills, a track record of win-win deal closures, and proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans in research partnerships and translation.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an inspiring leader to build on existing momentum and continue to progress RMIT's research partnering activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic growth agenda for RMIT's research partnering with industry, government, and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Pursue diverse research translation pathways, including IP management and Commercialisation, and new venture creation.
  • Inform the RMIT approach to enhancing its ecosystem for supporting research partnerships and translation through external benchmarking and trends.

The successful candidate will bring a clear understanding of global trends and external environmental factors, as well as demonstrable excellence in research partnering and translation leadership. They will be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders across all RMIT Schools, Colleges, and Portfolios.
