Job Description:

This is a rare career opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the development of wellbeing and safety initiatives at an esteemed institution.

  • Create and embed innovative strategies to deliver exceptional wellbeing and safety outcomes.
  • Drive strategic wellbeing and safety initiatives to create a safe, inclusive workplace aligned with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with leaders, partners, and teams to foster evidence-based practices enhancing employee engagement and trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining a proactive, positive environment that prioritises employee wellbeing and safety. This involves shaping culture, systems, and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive wellbeing, health, and safety strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Establishing inclusive, evidence-based wellbeing and safety systems, policies, and practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Advising on psychosocial risks, legislative changes, and risk management strategies.
  • Leading a high-performing team to deliver innovative wellbeing and safety initiatives.
  • Championing a healthy workplace culture through strategic planning, policy oversight, and operational excellence.
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to integrate emerging best practices and maintain high standards.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience leading wellbeing, health, and safety functions in large, complex environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Work, Health, and Safety legislation, risk management, and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships across all levels.
  • Strong capability in leveraging digital tools, data analytics, and assurance processes to monitor compliance and track performance.
  • A record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams.

This role requires a deep understanding of wellbeing and safety principles, as well as strong leadership skills to drive change and improve employee experience.
