Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team for a critical government initiative. As part of a dedicated technical team, you will work on designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure services.

This role is focused on utilizing best practices in cloud orchestration, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC). You will be working within a DevOps environment, implementing solutions to ensure scalable, efficient, and secure operations.

  • Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using Azure services.
  • Implement network configurations, storage solutions, and technical migration strategies in Azure.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure Bicep.
  • Create automated solutions for cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and optimize for cost management and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider program team, adhering to DevOps practices and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Storage, Networking, Functions, and DevOps tools.
  • Experience in configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and ARM templates.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, CLI, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration platforms, and cloud migration strategies.
  • Ability to design and implement infrastructure solutions to host applications in the cloud.
  • Experience working within a DevOps environment, automating processes and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture and DevOps practices.
