DevOps Engineer Position

This role requires a professional with extensive experience in DevOps, focusing on software deployment, integration, and automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth development, deployment, and operation of software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of OS and applications.
  • Automate manual tasks using configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) and scripting languages.
  • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Implement and manage containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment and scaling.
  • Ensure the security of software systems and infrastructure through best practices and security tools.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical incidents.
Requirements:

To succeed in this position, you must have:

  • Preferably tertiary qualifications in information technology or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Significant experience with Linux, open-source applications, and tools management.
  • Experience with configuration management and automatic deployment tools such as Ansible, AWX.
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Scripting skills using languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with X509 certificates.
  • Experience in monitoring and analytic tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.
  • Experience with development environment and the tools used to develop and support software such as the Atlassian tool suite i.e., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye, Crucible.

Security Clearance:

Defence security clearance is required for this role. You must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
