The Halcyon Knights are seeking a skilled SAS Developer to join their team in Surry Hills. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining SAS programs that support the needs of the Client's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the daily data delivery process, month-end processing, and responding to data-related requests in the Business as Usual (BAU) pipeline.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and improving existing reports and data interfaces using SAS
  • Converting existing SAS code into high-quality SAS code that is efficient, automated, maintainable, and follows industry best practices
  • Mentoring colleagues and developing their skill sets to understand SAS coding better
  • Developing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting SAS programs in SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Studio
  • Utilizing advanced SAS Macros and SQL to meet business requirements
  • Cross-environment coding for data manipulation across SAS 9.4 and Viya environments (with data in SAS, Parquet, and CAS formats)
  • Analyzing business needs and deploying SAS programs in Production
  • Identifying gaps in requirements and communicating effectively to resolve issues
  • Being the SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Data and Analytics team for best practices, architecture, and security practices in SAS

To be successful in this position, the candidate should have:

Essential:

  • Data analysis and development in SAS analytics platform (including SAS Viya 4.0 experience)
  • Strong expertise in SAS coding (preferably having gone through the SAS Programming 2 course), work with SAS Enterprise Guide/SAS Studio against clustered environments
  • Experience using "proc cas" to work against CAS engine libraries will be preferable. Proficiency in working across SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya environments with Linux Server
  • Ability to work independently along with excellent analytical and communication skills
  • SAS Certified Base Programmer, preferred: SAS Certified Advanced
  • Expertise in SQL

Desirable:

  • Experience in Python, R, or Java (preferred)
  • Experience with version control tools and processes (Gitlab CI/Bitbucket/Bamboo)
  • Ability to provide a mentor role within the team

Eligibility:

  • Australian Citizenship is required

Work From Home Policy:

  • Hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office)

  • Up to $1050.00 per day inc Super or ex GST
