Job Title: Urban Planning Specialist

Description: We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planner to implement a new project within our organisation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Victorian planning system and provisions, settlement and growth planning, planning scheme amendment process, role of referral authorities and planning for natural hazards, including bushfire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to address planning and building issues associated with natural hazards and emergency management;">
  • Collaborate with a small team of land use planning and bushfire specialists to review and implement a new bushfire risk information tool;">
  • Contribute to the establishment of internal processes, procedures and guidance to facilitate consistent decision making;">
  • Liaise with industry leaders, state government and local councils to develop creative solutions to meet desired outcomes;">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

An applicant for this position should have a tertiary qualification in urban or regional land use planning (or similar) and experience in strategic planning (preferred) or statutory planning. They must also possess high level written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare reports, submissions and planning policy.
