About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Sprayer to join our team at Forth in the picturesque Forth Valley on Tasmania's Northwest Coast. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in the health and productivity of our crops by safely and efficiently operating our state-of-the-art self-propelled sprayer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain spray equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and routine upkeep.
  • Chemical Handling: Mix and prepare chemicals according to precise instructions, ensuring safe and accurate handling.
  • Crop Protection: Apply crop protectants, herbicides, and fertilizers effectively, utilizing best spraying practices.
  • Weather Monitoring: Monitor weather conditions to adjust spraying schedules for optimal results and minimal environmental impact.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of applications, chemical usage, equipment maintenance, and spray logs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with supervisors and agronomists to ensure adherence to application rates and procedures.
  • WHS Compliance: Follow WHS protocols diligently, using personal protective equipment and SOP guidelines to ensure safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for chemical application and environmental protection.
  • Stock Management: Manage stock and maintain control over chemical supplies.
About You:

We are looking for a skilled sprayer and machinery operator with several years of experience, ideally in fresh produce. You will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • ChemCert Certificate. A Certificate of Competency in the application of agricultural chemical products at a minimum.
  • Self-motivated and reliable.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail with good numerical ability & excellent time management skills.
  • Current Driver's License.
