About Us

Our team is seeking a seasoned expert in payments law to serve as a key legal partner for our product, compliance, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of global payment regulations, including licensing, consumer protection, AML, and financial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new payments-related offerings, including those for Circle Payments Network.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance on launching payment products and programs globally, taking into account regulatory obligations and market trends.
  • Assess payment-related legal risks across multiple jurisdictions and offer practical advice to stakeholders.
  • Manage outside counsel and oversee legal workstreams to ensure consistent, high-quality support for payments initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of legal experience with a focus on payments and blockchain.
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent degree with admission to practice law in the United States.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. federal and state payments laws, including regulations related to money transmission, AML/BSA, and consumer protection.
  • Experience advising product and engineering teams on legal requirements in payment network design, custody, money transmission, or payment instruments.
  • Proficiency in blockchain or crypto-related legal and regulatory matters.
